way to flame and not use your brain. surely you can come up with an argument or idea that would actually be constructive instead of debasing and trying vainly to humiliate someone. It is feedback like yours that results in the steady degradation of the game.

What about them? they too are cosmetic and much like an item you wear on your name.

PvE = cosmetic

What are you expecting?

PvP is for competitive game play. PvE is for posers.

Choose your side.

Oh I choose pvp for sure, but the thing is, if the PvE aspect of the game didn't lock people down for 1/2 as long the pvp in guild wars would be booming much more then it is now.

you cannot ignore one side and expect the other to be peachy, they are both 1/2's to a whole.

No, it wouldn't.

PvP is done with insta-pvp characters. This is why skill packs exist. True pvpers have never set foot into PvE, and don't even care if it's removed entirely.

Most players however balance the gameplay between both.

You want to "win" the game. This is the problem here. You cannot win in MMOs. There is no "completed". You can pvp since day one, and you can do the same in PvE, and you can mix and match both entire time.

Unlike all other MMOs, PvP in GW does not require you to grind PvE to reach "end-game" (or, in other words, sorry, that's all the content we have money for, here is the never-ending grind/raid stuff you may repeat a million times).

The reason this is nothing but loot rant is because PvP does not succeed PvE. Loot and money is irrelevant in GW. It doesn't buy you power, it doesn't buy you respect, it doesn't do anything. You can be broke and obtain just about all titles. Or you can be ultra rich without ever leaving Ascalon, even pre-searing.

Trying to win an MMO is a futile attempt due to the multi-player aspect. There will always be someone who'll be doing more, faster, better than you. Realizing that in MMOs there are no heroes and no winners, and that respect is only earned outside of the game is the first "State of the game" to understand.

How is PvE being ignored?

Titles
Dungeons
New skins
More armor
etc

GW:EN wasn't great, but they did add new content..

If anything PvP is worse off

No new maps
HA is full of fame farming retards
Sucky new players
META is stale
and so on...

GW is getting on 3 years old, it's time for it to die in a blaze of glory/noobness

And what exactly does my post have to do with "winning" anything? -_-

If you actually read the post in the first place, you would see that it doesn't, hopefully.

The post is about locking players down in Pve so long(and not AB, to me thats not pvp you learn absolutely nothing there you can take to tournament) it blinds them to what really makes the game what it is.

Got to love people who love cook up some excuses to disguise their laziness; "I have a life, why can't this game give me ...". Sure, you may be busier than some of us here IRL, but face it. This is an online game, and all online games emulate reality such that "You want 'X' item, you got to spend 'Y' amount of effort and time to get it.".

P.S. Spending your time here making instant replies to our posts ain't helping you achieving anything. You could use that time looking for quick farm builds.

So you want PvE players to play PvP, or what? You need to be clearer.

Except that this isn't true.

You are the one locked down since you are trying to win PvE first, before going to PvP.

Everyone else I know plays both at the same time. I fail to see this "lock down". Everyone in my guild pve's, does AB, RA, and less frequently HA and GvG. Meanwhile, everyone also has abundance of PvE characters, does trading, dungeons, vanquishing, etc....

*You* are the one who has decided that before you pvp, you must win PvE. In that, you're stuck with the rest of PvE-ers, who will never PvP, since don't care about that, and PvP for them will never exist.

PvE doesn't lock anyone down. You don't need to win it, or reach level 70 before you're competitive. Go PvP today, and you'll find that majority of players does both.

Those that don't, never will PvP. Last thing we need is PvE-ers being forced into PvP.

And I love people that don't read posts but chime in on a thread with unrelated comments. The point of the thread, again to make it more clear then it already is..is about the state of the game.

The Pve side of Gw has received so much attention that the PvP side of guild wars has become stagnant. To fix it I propose giving players in PvE what they want so us PVPers can finally get some freaking attention.

But if everyone just gives up the game will continue on it's path down a poop hole, and it isn't a "free ecto for noobs" thread at all. I think lowering drop rates will put more people into pvp. if you don't agree thats fine, but I remember back in the day when things were much easier to achive on the pve side, and pvp was a monster because people had what they needed\wanted.

make Balthazar faction into a type of currency that can be used in the PvE areas while still unlocking those PvP items. perhaps make it 3 to 5 times the amount for a single gold coin. (example: 5 gold coins = 1 Balthazar point)

throw that idea into the game and see how it plays out. this is just off the top of my head. i haven't put any real thought into this just yet, but the concept seems sound enough.

Ok. Let's get this straight. You are a PvP focused player which you claim yourself to be on the first post. Now you should be having easier time as compared to those PvE farmers in getting those shiny stuff with those automated tournaments or selling chest drops from HA.

PvE is NEVER being nerfed in anyway. Farming is. And by the way, now, everything is cheaper and easier to get as compared to earlier years with heroes, PvE skills. Most basic titles such as survivor, cartographer and protector are quite easy to get with heroes.

So which part of PvE are you complaining about being difficult?

Realistically though separation can never truly happen unless Anet lets one side completely die off.
There have never and never will be separate worlds so long as the pvp skills are the same skills the majority of players are bringing with them into pve.

I agree that Anet has included pve only skills into the game, but at the same time the skills introduced into the game are not nearly enough to cause a separation of worlds. The majority of all skill balance done in GW is based off PvP but there is still not nearly enough attention aimed there to make it rewarding.

I sure don't have a problem with my unlocks in pvp been done for quite awhile now, the thing is pve is getting way more attention aimed at it's direction then pvp is. my proposal, although maybe a silly one was to just increase the drop rates in pve so people get what they want quicker to increase numbers on the pvp scene. maybe that wouldn't be the best way to do it, but that was my idea, it has nothing to do with me farming in pve to get the imo stupid looking loot.
